Second Chance Prom

Clients cut loose at 2nd chance prom

The night was fantastic -- so much easier than last year.

That's how second time around goes!

Street Youth Ministry and Lifeworks teamed up for an encore of the Second Chance Prom, an opportunity for SYM clients to get dressed up and made up for an evening of fun, fellowship and food.

The preparation team was marvelous. So many dresses, suits, shoes and jewelry options to choose from! The showers, haircuts, stylings and makeovers were all fun and exciting and much appreciated by the youth. The clients looked so proud! The decorations theme, "Casino Night," was amazing. We especially loved the red carpet area, where clients were greeted as they came in with sparkling juice in champagne glasses!

Guest photographers took glamour shots all evening. The food from Honeybaked Ham was delicious. Our kitchen crew and wait staff served up a fancy, four-course dinner with bread baskets, salad plates, a choice of two entrees and then desserts. The hospitality team fired up the casino action with a prize area after dinner, as activity turned to two blackjack tables with lots of chips and an awesome dance floor with a DJ, lights, smoke and popular dance tunes that kept our clients moving! The evening ended with a raffle drawing for donated prizes.

The coat check team was awesome, watching all the stuff and washing all the dogs! The dogs loved the extra attention, too! After the prom, a fresh team of cleanup volunteers took over, and the entire scene disappeared in less than an hour. It was a magical and wonderful event!
